Zest for Living vs. The Blues
Sometimes we get trapped in negative thinking. We feel there is no way out of our problems, or we get down on ourselves and treat ourselves unkindly.
Learn to view life as having multiple possibilities, as a challenge that can be met. Learn to treat yourself kindly, to view life as a time to share with others and care about others.
A morning walk out in the sun, Vitamin D, healthy eating (low carbs), gardening, hiking, music, meditation, prayer and friends have all been proven to be helpful in combatting the blues.
Who is in your jury box?
If we are unconsciously carrying around people in our heads (from our past) that are criticizing us, judging us, humiliating us or putting us in no-win situations, then we are going to be blue. We need to figure out a way to get these negative people out of our jury boxes.
Take the Adverse Childhood Experiences Questionnaire. It can help you focus on the childhood experiences that may be fueling your blues.
